TMoms 2024 Top Art Moments

Every day is an art moment at Mom’s. From the ever changing walls to the hundreds of creative events, the year has been filled with non-stop inspiration. We’re beyond thankful for every one of you who have added to the beautiful chaos, shared your vision here or came out to support creative folks.

Here are a few of our 2024 art memories, in no particular order, with much love and appreciation.

Thirsty Walls

Born out of both the longing for fresh work and the new wave of street artists during the pandemic shut down years, Thirsty Walls has evolved into a chance for community to create and go crazy three times a year with a deluge of new creative energy and good times  Thanks to everyone who  made the walls shine with pastes, stickers, installs & paint and a special shout out to Melt & Attack Arts for creating the 2024 Thirsty Walls poster art. And look out for more Thirsty Walls coming your way in January, May & September of 2025!

National Barbie Day Mobile

We celebrated the birthday of the plastic fantastic Barbie with a special install by Fistful of Flowers and Basic Barbie that transformed one of our vintage ride cars into a fresh & fierce Barbie mobile, road warrior ready! Fabulous selfies were taken, Cosmo Clouds and Pop Rockets were enjoyed and Mom had everyone thinking PINK in March.

Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue

In June our long time dream of hosting an international wheat paste show came to life with the first ever installment of Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue. With the fuck yeah DIY enthusiasm of Doomed Future and the incredible response of hundreds of artists from over 15 countries we pasted the front room, stairs and more from floor to ceiling with the best of this iconic medium. Huge love and thanks to the local paste up install crew Sean 9 Lugo, The 666 Cat, Inphiltrate, RoboQ4, Gloopy Goblin, Praise Dobbler, Antiflowershow Movement, and photographers and filmmakers Phil Travel, Seper, Eric Dale, Patricia Yañez, Shannon Pepe and more,

Artist Visits

We love welcoming artists from all over the planet to TMoms. Seeing folks experience the space for the first time is a thrill that never gets old and watching them explore the “playground” and add to its joy is always a proud Mom moment. One special afternoon this summer we were lucky to meet up with a crew of long time internet crushes and street art sweethearts when RX Skulls, Voxx Romana, Captain Eyeliner, D7606, T0ast0r0, and Urban Ninja, came to rock! We’re still finding little treasures from their visit in all kinds of fun spots.

Alley Art by AK

Enjoy the art view from the first floor back windows? AK aka obscurepathalienfrequencies has been rocking those space is the place murals in that special little alley gallery for many years. And the whole enchilada got a full reboot this fall. The artist describes it as “a depiction of things I enjoy, things seen on travels, geometric patterns, it’s meant to be busy.” So get a window seat next time you’re at Mom’s and get busy!

Characters Welcome All Stars x Sticker Movie

Our love for sticker art knows no bounds and this November we got to celebrate the world of stickers with two incredible events in one weekend. The long running Characters Welcome show returned with an all star edition with works from the sticker archives covering 2012 – 2019. Thanks to the all the sticker artists who’ve contributed over the years and to Ian and Brandon for the killer exhibition install.  And Sticker Movie made it’s Philly debut the same weekend with showings at Old Pine and TMoms and special appearances from legends El Toro, Bob Will Reign, Cornbread, Agent 5 Smith, ShePosse and Chilly Willy.  A very special edition of Priority Mag highlighted both Characters Welcome and a ton of Philly artists that make the sticker art scene here so special – grab your copy at South Street Art Mart.  And if you haven’t seen it or are ready for a re-watch, Sticker Movie is available to stream now!
