The Too Much Poetry Party: Book Release and Reading

A night of poetry and celebration! Award winning trans poet Gion Davis is on tour for the release of their debut collection, Too Much. Called “an uncompromising wonder” by Chen Chen and “a lonely, vulnerable, sexy book” by Willi Carlisle, Too Much looks at what it means to be queer and punk in the age of climate change and social imbalance. Davis’s book examines the detachment that comes along with growing up in rural America, guiding the reader through heartbreaks, road trips, bus rides, and loss while asking how much is too much in a world that is both overflowing and desolate.

The night will also feature readings from Philly poets Sadie Dupis, author of Cry Perfume and Mouthguard, Alina Pleskova, author of What Urge Will Save Us, and Amy Saul-Zerby, author of Deep Camouflage.

Don’t miss a unique queer solo show, here at TMoms for just 2 performances during Philly Fringe!

20th-century fem(me)/butch lesbian bars come to life in a solo dance/theatre performance. Maggie Cee explores her years as a teenage gay rights activist, her own identity, and fem history – illuminating the feminine women whose stories are too often forgotten, but whose strength and determination paved the way for LGBTQIA+ rights decades before Stonewall.

Cee is a graceful, down-to-earth performer who’s passionate about her subject…and tells it through dance, pre-recorded voices, oral histories, fictional characters and well-chosen music.”

Witness dark and twisted horror in this portrait of a final girl with a shaking rack of ribs, The Lamia Queen! Join the darkest guild of ghouls with a brew from the Tmoms tap, or grab a signature cocktail and some delectable cuisine from the Tmoms vegan menu!

Sip City Mixer: Philly LGBTQ Women’s Party

This has been on Sip City Mixer’s wishlist a long time. Come by for Mom hugs, cold drinks, and the best damn tater tots ever. And a yuuuge pool table!

Sip City Mixer is an intentionally diverse, inclusive, welcoming and safe space for femmes, women, trans, non-binary, and gender nonconforming queer Philadelphians. We are black, white, people of color, trans*. Sip City Mixer organizes special meetups around the area, and you’re invited! It’s a chance to meet new friends and relax with old friends.
