More Fun Upstairs
From the first tag to the latest wheat paste, upstairs at TMom’s has been home to a rich history of local & international street art. This is an ever changing gallery: an un-curated & spontaneous outpouring of creativity by local & traveling artists and the countless visitors who leave their unique mark here nightly.
The birth of the upstairs as a vibrant art space is in part tied to a 1999 exhibition by brothers Noah & Nathan Rice. That year the Brothers Rice brought their umbrella wheat pastes we’d been admiring around South Street to Mom’s. All 5000 of them.
Sticker art has been an important part of the upstairs at Mom’s since day one. So it’s a huge honor (and a lot of fun) to be the home of the Sticky Art Machine.

Join the cult of Creatures of the Night as they celebrate and perform scenes from their favorite pop-culture tv shows including Bob’s Burgers, Rick & Morty and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Gaze upon pop-inspired art as you are entertained by Philly’s Pop-culture Punk Theatre!
The short but sweet month of February brings a rare double header to Craft Sundays at Mom’s. First you’ll have a chance to take the humble coaster, the place to set down the beverage of your choice, and turn it into a mini masterpiece of artistic expression. Second, take that vessel of fun juice, the might pint glass and customize it as your own. Make your own drink coaster or pint glass at our creatively quenching craft table while enjoying our awesome weekend brunch menu, $3 draft pick(from 3-5pm), or half priced drafts (from 5-7 & 10-11pm). Come out to support the senior class Photography students at UArts as they raise money for their Senior Show. Student art will be on display as well as a selection of prints that will be available for purchase. Help the senior class put on a spectacular senior show while you enjoy the very best photography that UArts has to offer!
A portion of all food and drink sales during the event will be donated to the Senior Show fund, so bring your friends and have fun for a great cause!
The fantastic paper cut art of Joe Boruchow has inspired us at Mom’s for years. From custom New Year’s posters to back door alley art to countless upstairs installations, Joe’s sharp wit and skill has always been a thrill to discover here.
The latest installation of bold large scale wheat pastes upstairs is from his new “Transition” series. His keen eye is never heavy handed but always on target. In the words of John F. Kennedy, “We must never forget that art is not a form of propaganda; it is a form of truth.” Joe B’s art lets that truth shine brightly whether it’s on the street, in the gallery or upstairs here at Mom’s.
Tattooed Momedy is a fast paced, free comedy showcase featuring some of the funniest performers Philadelphia and the surrounding areas have to offer, including: Stand-up, burlesque, sketch and whatever else we can find! Hosted by the always hilarious, and delightfully entertaining, Michael Kelly.
