From the first tag to the latest wheat paste, upstairs at TMom’s has been home to a rich history of local & international street art. This is an ever changing gallery: an un-curated & spontaneous outpouring of creativity by local & traveling artists and the countless visitors who leave their unique mark here nightly.
The birth of the upstairs as a vibrant art space is in part tied to a 1999 exhibition by brothers Noah & Nathan Rice. That year the Brothers Rice brought their umbrella wheat pastes we’d been admiring around South Street to Mom’s. All 5000 of them.
Sticker art has been an important part of the upstairs at Mom’s since day one. So it’s a huge honor (and a lot of fun) to be the home of the Sticky Art Machine.
The weather can be deceiving, but we’re counting down to Summer ’18 with another Philly Vegan Pop Flea market at Tattooed Mom! Get the chance to meet with representatives from our featured impacted organizations, Sea Shepherd Philadelphia & Food Empowerment Project, and snag some cute vegan products at the same time!
JERKS Productions brings you FUSED UNDERGROUND! Join us for a night of ART, HORROR & BOOZE as we celebrate First Friday and keep art alive in Philadelphia! We will be showcasing some of Philadelphia (and surrounding area)’s best local underground artists!

Jeremy M. Brownlowe travels the country under the moniker “Typewriter Troubadour,” composing original pieces of poetry on a manual typewriter for curious pedestrians. This event marks the release of his debut, Angels of the Underground, a collection of rich, raw, and tender poems from an explorer navigating new frontiers of gender identity, sexuality, and human relationship.
Set in New York City, Angels offers Brownlowe’s unique perspective as a trans guy through unflinching portraits of male vulnerability, queerness, addiction, lost love, and modern alienation. With humor, grit, and ease, Brownlowe weaves stories of the neglected subjects of the City, taking notes in poems, which he offers up to us in this compelling collection.
You Can’t Fail is an evening of new works, including visual art, photography, theater, dance, performance art, comedy, story-telling, poetry, prose, sculpture, ballet, film, and stand-up. ANY and ALL art will be presented.

We’re honored to be featured in the latest installment of Opaque Philly’s series of videos highlighting our city’s creators. Opaque’s passionate talent & vision for this project captured the heart and soul Tattooed Mom. Their support of the local creative community and focus on celebrating self expression in it’s many forms comes through in every frame. We’re excited to share “A Canvas for a Community” with you and hope you’ll take a few minutes to see and hear what TMoms founder Robert & featured artist Bear 215 have to share about their love for Tattooed Mom & the worldwide family we’re so lucky to be with on this journey.
#DINNERMOVIE4” is the next short film in the anthology series known as the DINNERVERSE from local creative Aleksandra Svetlichnaya. “#DINNERMOVIE4” was shot locally in the Philadelphia area, with local cast and crew. The series also includes “DINNER” and “BREAKFAST” (aka #DINNERMOVIE2). Aleksandra wrote, produced and directed all three, while also starring in them.
“DINNER” and “BREAKFAST” have been screened at film festivals and comic cons all over the country – including San Diego Comic Con 2017! Don’t miss your chance to see this next film before anyone else! (Official title will also be revealed at the screening!) Members of the cast and crew will be in attendance.
What could possibly go wrong with a planned camping trip? Well, as any horror fan would know, quite a bit. Dylan (Aleksandra Svetlichnaya) discovers this the hard way when Oscar (Joshua Kachnycz) and Steven’s (Nathan Landis Funk) trip goes awry, complete with a mysterious artifact and a powerful demonic force. And worst of all – no s’mores!

About The Project – Mural Photo Booth is a collaborative project between beloved South Street bar Tattooed Mom and new Fabric Row home and life shop YOWIE. They chose two artists that speak to the fun, quirky, and creative vibe of South Street and wanted to create a fun, Spring Fest inspired installation that begs to be interacted with.
About The Artists:
Emilia Brintnall is a visual artist based in Philadelphia. Emilia primary works in paper mache sculpture, video and installation. Emilia creates work based on animals, plants, landscapes and everyday objects that are lumpy playful versions of their real forms. Often her sculptures and drawings transform into fantasy hybrid creatures or piles of characters.
James Dream is a multidisciplinary visionary artist. His current work involves creating spaces conducive to moving emotions, sparking imagination, and most importantly, play.
Be sure to stop by the mural photo booth installations on the 200 block of South Street during the Spring Festival on Saturday May 5 from 11am – 8pm. Feel free to take selfies, pics of your kids, family & besties & tag the artists (@emiliabrintnall & @flesh_prince) and #SouthStFest. Enjoy this fun life sized sidewalk photo booth.
